Where does this pipe go

There is a metal tube that comes out of the exhaust manafold cover just below the 2inch round vented pipe. In the phot the top of the tube is by the oil cap. The tube is actually cut and crimped and not going anywhere. Where is it suspose to go. Can i just take it off and cap the opening?

Here's your pic. I have no idea what that's for. Looks like it's something for the exhaust gas recirculations valve.

You're welcome. That pipe does go from the exhaust manifold to the EGR valve on top the engine.

You are right I saw that pipe and the other one that connects to the EGR on Ebay.

well, answering that question can be problematic. it all depends on what emission tests your vehicle needs to pass in your area. in california, you need to replace or repair it back to factory... in Michigan, you get to pitch it and not look back.

what laws do you break by removing emission equipment in your area?

I am in Florida where there is no emission checks or car inspections. You should see some of the cars here. The guy that stopped and helped me with my flat tire had a hoda civic station wagon and the back window was clear packing tape. Every weekend you will see some one driving on the interstate with a mattress on the roof of there vehicle held down with thing string.
