Post by tonys1980124 »

my car was running great for about 2 months. then it started to act up, it would die at random times, i would start it go a few feet it would die. i forund others have had the same issues, so i changed the coil and the module, it ran great for about a week then acted up again. could it be vapor lock, and if so how do i fix it? anything would help.

Could you refresh us on whether your car is a carbed or fuel injected car? When the car dies, have you determined it's losing spark? It could possibly be the pickup at the distributor. The wires could be broken inside the white insulation, causing it to act up randomly.

so my dad had time to help me today, it turned out the pink wire from the coil was cooked, all the way to the ing. we replaced the wire and incorperated a fuse to help keep it from another melt down. also the same wire powered the radio so i hope this fix works.
