Distributor interferes with hood

Post by mosu »

Strange issue, but my topmost wire terminal is hitting the hood when closed and the wire boot is getting badly chafed. Is there anything that I can do to the dizzy's orientation to fix this?

You can reinstall the dist with the cap facing another direction, (down or sideways), it just has to be timed correctly.

So all I have to do is pull it out, re-orient it, and redo the timing, right?

yes, and hope the plug wires are long enough to reach the plugs

Cheers mates!

I have some slackage in the wires, so a slight turn to the right should do it.

Here's the correct orientation and wiring. There shouldn't be any interference this way.
