These cars are not in connection with Ford. He is having them done at an aftermarket company. This is his own project, as you can tell by the missing Ford and Mustang logos.
Ford lost 1.4 billion in first quarter and Toyota lost 8 billion. Iacocca at first wanted to do a Toyota car, but couldnt think of a cool car being built now or in the past for that company. I know when you think of cool classic cars the Toyota ??????? just rolls off your tongue.
I think Honda and Toyota are dueling over the Prius hybrid class and trying to see who can bankrupt themselves faster. Each one wants to sell the car at a bigger loss that the other one.

Instead of the 450 million to Telsa Motors from the Energy Dept., it should be 4-10 billion to get those electric cars mass produced and I want the convertible one!

You all do realize Lee was the driving force that brought the original Mustang to market back in 1964, right?

This has a nice reference to the past. Back then Lee had much darker hair, the silver on the car matches his current silver mane. Odd that he looks like he has more hair now than he did back in 1964.

our Ol' Buddy, Leverage Lee, pioneered the modern Big 3 bailout when he headed Chrysler also. He can call himself the father of the Mustang, but all he did was approve it once the design staff (now all fired with their pensions plundered) presented it to him. I hope he can find boatloads of suckers to take his "new" Muskrats off his hands. Why anyone would pay 60k for a 10k car is beyond me

No matter what they put out there to drive ,someone will like it and buy it,my 63 year old brother-in-law, retired from teaching, just took delivery on a 09 challenger. Not my cupa tea but he loves it. Great guy never-the less.

the thing is, all new cars are nice. Even the econo boxes. It's how they hold up a few years down the road that determines their worth to me. Paying megabucks for a car really doesn't mean it will function well for long. I had an 04 Dodge Neon in the shop yesterday. The power steering hard line was routed so close to the exhaust pipe that it wore a hole through the steel tubing. Terrific engineering. These are the guys that will be designing cars for the "new Chrysler"

FUNNY FUNNY STUFF Mark, I want the bailout blue one. But, come on, you can't just say that Iacocca just OK'd the Ford Mustang. yeah, maybe he did not come up with the actual desing but the concept of a semi sports \ family car produced with overstock parts was all his idea 
. Also, he was the one who started selling all the old parts to other companies and then made the mustang out the rest of the old stock. Try to get a brake rebuild kit for an AMC or international, Good freaking luck, but purchase one for a 67 mustang and you got the exact same parts and the availability is abundant. 
But, It's a good thing we did not go to war during the 80's because all of those Chrysler tanks probably would have failed. But, hand it to Iacocca, he bailed out Chrysler as well - I'm not saying I like K-cars but a lot of people did. Go figure, well, a lot of people really like the prius and Toyota's in general.
