are you unable to create them ... or do they just seem to hang in your outbox?

took me a while to understand that they remain in your outbox until the recipient logs in... then they leave your box and are deposited in their in box.

Good to know. Thanks. They were hanging in the outbox and I thought it worked like email.

i thought the same thing, which irritated me for a while.

now that i know, it helps explain why certain people have yet to respond to me. example: i currently have four PMs in my out box, one as old as 7/7/9... some folks just don't visit here as often as I.

but, when the message leaves your outbox at least you know they've opened it. They've just chosen not to respond

I don't see the need for PM, especially as limited and frustrating as this particular PM service is. Why not just use regular e-mail?

that is great for the guys that let you know their email address.

not everyone does that. and, when they send you a question via PM, usually the answer goes out the same way.

i am finding it difficult to arm twist a guy right now that owes me for postage. the only way i know how to reach him is PM or slander his name all over the forum.. I'd pay for his email address, but that would not guaruntee reimbursement either.

any suggestions here would be appreciated.

I'm just trying to promote the idea of folks signing their e-mail with their signature, so we can do away with the need for the damn PM thing. What's there to lose?? Being spammed, okay, that's possible. I've been giving my e-mail and phone numbers out for years, with very little problem of spam. If one is worried about spam, they could always take out another e-mail address.

I am wanted by the police on seven states and didnot return by Blockbuster DVD's in two others. PM allows me to stay on the lamb.

i would not mind the feature of members having access to my email account either. I can do so readily at other forums if the members know how to look for my address, and think we used to have this feature here (or is my part-timers kicking in?).

i agree Alvon..having email addresses of the other authorized members would be great. i never liked the PM feature, and still don't.

POPE--the boyz in blue stopped at my house the other day looking for you. Something about your mother.

I can find you. One of the few folks driving those funny old Italian cars in Detroit!

When I when the lottery, I'm sending $10K each to all those posting their e-mail address. The rest of ya can just grumble.
