Timing Chain Slip?
Timing Chain Slip?
Ok, I have the same old sputtering problem we hear so much about on this forum. Unfortunately new condensers didn't change a thing for me. If the timing chain had slipped one notch or so, could that be the problem? I had that suggested to me today so I thought I'd get the opinion of this fine group.

Re: Timing Chain Slip?
Easy enough to check; push the car in 4th gear until the cam pulley pointers align with their respective holes. Both intake and exhaust pulleys should reach alignment position (TDC) together. Then observe the position of the timing mark on the crankshaft pulley. With the cam pulleys at TDC, the crank pulley should be a 0° also.
ps Make sure the ignition is Off before pushing the car while in gear
