Timing marks line up But still No Fire

Post by jetride124 »

I have put the timing marks in the correct places, but I still have no fire, I have spark from the coil but not off any of the plug wires so I'm thinking my points are way off? Or my distributer is bad? I've owned this car for the better part of a decade and my dad bought it new in C.A. And i've probably only put 4,000 miles on it in that decade and enough is enough. I will get it running HOPEFULLY with the wisdom of all you wonderfully experienced people!! So This is only the begining of my long line of post so any insights would be GREATLY appreciated.

The spark goes thru the coil wire and gets distributed by the rotor to the towers in the cap. As long as the distributor is turning, the fault is between these componets.

sounds like the rotor is defective or the ign timing is so far off the spark can't jump from the rotor tip to the dist terminals
