Can some please help on the idle cut off solenoid. The wire that was going to mine was actually for the oil pressure light.
I kind of understand what it does. I am guessing it opens when the when the car slows down to keep it idleing. It also should not be getting a constant voltage like it was but a signal when need to be open or closed.
On Brads wiring diagram for the 1977 spider it shows a grey wire comming from the Thermostatic Switch for ignition mode reley. The wiring diagram in my owners manual shows a grey/pink wire comming from the same place. I need to figure out witch wire I need to connect. The only grey wire I found the was not connected to anything was cut and not connected to anything on the other end. (nice) So here is my question.
1. What does the Thermostatic Switch for ignition mode look like and where is it suspose to be located.
(Sorry if I sound dumb never had this kind of problem before my carb work was limitied to motorcycles).
Idle cut off solenoid
Re: Idle cut off solenoid
sorry I can't help with wire color while I'm at home. All of the manuals are at work. But, the idle cutoff solenoid should have power whenever the ignition switch is in the on position.

Thanks
I actually double checked Brads wiring diagram again this morning and I made a mistake. On that diagram the wire going to the solenoid is GREEN not grey. I did happen to find a green wire with an original white conector on it last night that was not connected to anything. I did not do anything with that wire last night because it was not grey and it is also a little thicker then the rest of the wires. I would say one or 2 sizes bigger than the rest of the wires. Could this be my missing wire. Tonight when I go to my storage unit I will see what is connected to the other end of that wire.
THanks
Thanks
