Hi guys...
I'm going to have my head and cam cover gaskets replaced--literally all that come with the Head Gasket Sets from the various suppliers. If anything needs machined, I'm going to have them take care of that, too.
While it's apart, I'm going to have them replace the rotor, distributor cap, condensors, points, spark plugs, wires, all the hoses (and do a flush and fill), and all the belts--as well as a fresh LOF...
TWO questions; 1. am I forgetting anything that I should go ahead and have replaced, and 2. What should I be looking at in terms of labor hours / cost?? I don't want to get ripped off on labor since I'm going to supply the parts. (I've been collecting boxes from IAP, Vick's, and other places for the last month...)
Thanks!!
Michael.

Head / Cam Cover gasket replacement help...
Re: Head / Cam Cover gasket replacement help...
make sure they check the bottom of the cam boxes for flatness as well as the cylinder head. It's also a good time to service the oil separator and put new hoses on it. As long as the head is off, I'd have them replace the front crank seal and aux shaft seal
