Car show

Post by racydave »

I had been waiting to finish her up a little, but last night I took her to the mall parking lot where the locals gather every Friday evening. Its only 2 blocks down the street. I was met with alot of enthusiasm, and spent the whole time talking to folks. She was the only foreign sports car there, and apparently a welcome addition. I saw one guy coming from across the lot with the biggest grin. He drove fiats for 10 years, and was exited to check out mine. Many others stopped by to share their stories and experiences. Needless to say I shouldnt have waited so long. Guess we'll be a regular there on Fridays! 8)

Ain't it great?
I'm amazed at how many people we run into at gas stations an so forth, who love the car and talk about how they used to own one.
I'll bet your "new" Spider is a big hit!

Way to go,Dave. That car will be a hit anywhere you take it. This past Sat. I attended a 'Cars n Coffee' event about 80 miles from my house .I talked Elial McGurk(ATL-FLU) into meeting me there. The organizers were absolutely estatic to have us.Gave us the Peoples Choice award to share.Invited me to come back next month to video my car and me for a segment on their site. The cars were a hit ,Elial has a 85 Pinin., and some younger people questioned me for 10 minutes...they had never seen a Fiat or heard of one before the recent merger. The Rodney Dangerfields of the auto world are starting to get a little respect.

I seem to meet two types of people, they either ask if it's an MGB or what kind of car it is or they used to have one and like them.

Same deal. I've had a bunch of people come up to tell me how they or their friend had one and they remember driving around, or they think its an MG. The rest just stare haha.
