I made a post to fiat spider related but do not see it.
I'm pretty sure I hit the submit button and recall it giving
me an option to save as a draft and I hit OK.

there's a difference between save and submit. save puts it in lala land somewhere. only the really computer savvy can retrieve those. i accidently found where those saved threads go, but i could not tell you where that is today.
submit will sometimes not work when you are submitting EXACTLY at the same time as someone else (especially on the same thread). if you are lucky, you end up back at your reply page and get to submit again. if you are not lucky... your post disappears FOREVER.
see if you can find your post saved somewhere as a draft. check your user control panel.
