Overfill bottle

Post by cutchaguy »

Was there two different sizes of overfill bottles for the 1981 Spider 2000? I ordered the correct part number from Vicks, but the where the hose connects is larger on the replacement bottle than on the one I am replacing. I rechecked the catalog and I didn't mis-order.

Yeah,I had the same problem with the one I got on E-BAY. To fix it I just attached a piece of hose that would fit on the drain piece, then attached a plastic reducer from AUTO ZONE that fit into the original sized hose. Worked out fine! Good luck! Tom Walters WEST MICHIGAN FLU

That's a better and cheaper solution than what I was thinking!

On both my cars the overflow tank nipple is larger that the one on the rad. I use clear vinyl tubing so I can see if it's bled and after breifly heating the end with a heat gun was able to shove it on the larger nipple of the tank.
