I have a 78 124 with 1800 eng. I blew the exhaust gasket a couple of months ago and have been running around the hood loudly. I am going to replace the gasket and was curious if anyone had recommendations on the type of material I should look for in the gasket. IAP does not have them in stock so I have to go somewhere else. Any suggestions?
Thanks
Ed

Re: Blown Exhaust gasket
I get the impression IAP is phasing out Fiats and focusing on Alfa. Their stock of 1978 and older Fiat parts is becoming non-existent.
Any of the vendors mentioned on this site should have that gasket, or you could buy a 2L gasket from IAP and use that.
I'd suggest you check the tightness of all of the exhaust studs while the manifold is off.

Re: Blown Exhaust gasket
some stuff is on backorder due to a late shipment from Europe. i just ordered a #1 bow gasket, and spindle nuts, and was told that they were backordered until october.
my 4-2-1 manifold to down pipe gasket was in stock, and i received it the same week i ordered it.
have not had the time to review the brand new catalogue, what you are saying mark is of interest.
