Re: Weather and Cars
No but I know of a guy who did. He lived in Altadena, CA near an arroyo. There was a rainstorm of unusual proportions for the area one day that propagated a huge mud slide that hit his house. It forced the garage doors in and lifted the cars inside up to hit the ceiling.
One of the cars was a MGTD his wife drove nearly everyday.. It completely filled the car with fine mud. Everywhere. They dug it out (the mud didn't flow out of the garage) and hosed the car off as best they could but it was a total loss. They parked it out behind the garage after that, moved to another part of the area and brought the sad hulk with them. It sat for nearly twenty years alongside the garbage cans next to the garage.
One day he had the car brought to a restorer who took it down to every last nut, bolt, clip and so on.
It took two years but on Christmas day he put a nice bow on it and parked it outside for his wife. It looked like new.
I looked through the pics of the restore, there was mud that completely filled the gearbox with the finest silt you can imagine. Just amazing
