Head Parts Question

I have a 79 Spider carburated, and inbetween the cam covers are two metal pieces they both go to the air cleaner I am going to run an open air filter and am wondering if I can run a seperated little filter on the one that is closer to the back of the car, what are these pieces for and will it hurt if I run seperate filters? Thanks in advance. Steve

that is part of the Pulse Air Injection system. Without the stock air cleaner it won't work, so you might as well remove the valves and plug them

Just a question, if I plug up those two ports will it cause to much pressure in the engine. Sorry it sounds stupid. Steve
