Following along with Brady's awesome resto thread, http://www.fiatspider.com/f08/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=6625 , I decided to follow his lead... But I'm nowhere near as talented as he is, nor do I have the resources he has.
So I came up with my own cheapy solution:
Instead of making a decent rig like he did, I just wrapped a chain around the rollbar, ran it through the firewall and hooked the other end around the side of the radiator support frame. Then I simply hooked my cherry picker up to the middle of the chain and lifted it up onto it's side.
I can't really afford to sand blast it, so I just degreased it and washed it all really well.
Next I plan on using my drill and a wire brush to remove any stubborn areas, wash it again, then spray rust converter on any areas that need it, fiberglassing a few holes, then spraying the bottom black, and finally, spraying on rubberized undercoating (the cheap kind that comes in a spraycan at Kragen)
I'll post pics of the progress, I suppose, but it won't be nearly as good as Brady's. It'll be the poor boy version.

A man after my own heart (or more precisely budget). I have to do everything on the cheap and resourcefulness becomes both an enjoyable challenge and a need. So I salute your resourcefulness and look forward to seeing more of your progress! Looking very, very good so far...
