Hey guys - great thread! I've been offline, waiting for the new site...then I discovered a couple of days ago that my old "Favourites" link in MS Explorer wasn't working and I'd missed 3 weeks of chatter! Bummer :(

I'm still thinking about the Rolex, primarily because it's a long, expensive trip and a fan endurance event, as well as an endurance race. But this thread has me pumped again. I'll let you know soon.

Craig - it's great that you'll be on the inside next season. That's one step closer to competition and I'm sure you'll love it. I'll be instructing next year, so instead of paying for track time (at Calabogie), I'll be paid for track time. That'll help pay for the engine...but that's another story.

Hi Craig,
You guys have all the fun! We had a little get together at my house and did Fiat maintainance. Some how the conversation turned to an endurance race that's going to run at limerock. Looks like we need a $500.00 Fiat to turn into a racer. I guess this is how it starts.

George, sounds like a LeMons race? There is a newer group for $500 cars called ChumpCar.Same rules as Lemons, but they have some different locations. Here is a link http://www.chumpcar.com/about.php We are thinking of putting our ill fated Fiat out there. We had a engine knock(aux shaft hitting rod) but after teardown found that the oil pump was bd!We wouldnt have made a lap!!

I am looking forward to the SCCA corner work.I try to make almost all the events at RA anyway, might as well get in free and get fed to be there. Also, you can camp for free inside the track. And maybe....I can make some contacts that would get me into a car.You know...to drive, not to pull some poor guy out of  .I have watched some races from Miller,it looks like an awesome facility.

Yeah, you can't beat being paid monetarily or gastronomically to watch / be part of a race!
I see the string continuing on about getting a vehicle race prepped. That would be fantastic. You'll have to keep us informed as / if you proceed.
Yes, the track is incredible. It can be configured a number of ways being as large as it is (maximum configuration puts it as around 4 miles). The view also if good. You can practically see the some or most of the action from almost anywhere you're standing.
