hoosa X'spert at Pay Pal??
generally, i am used to seeing payment types of:
PAYMENT TO
PAYMENT FROM
TRANSFER TO
TRANSFER FROM
today, i see a PAYMENT OWED FROM and the name of a buyer.
HUH?
does this mean i have the money? I don't have the money? i could have the money? i will have the money?
pay pal hasn't taken their cut of the transaction yet, so i gotta assume that the payment is not mine yet. So why is it listed on my account? the transaction is dated yesterday, so they've had plenty of "normal" business time to verify the validity of the transaction. it is a USA transaction on both ends...so there's no international currency exchange issues involved.
i emailed pay pal hours ago, but it could take days to receive a reply... in the mean time, the buyer is waiting for his part, and i look like i am holding things up.

Payment Owed normally is a payment type that the payer assigns to the payment, such as...
Services: to pay for things like your internet service.
Goods: to pay for non-auction goods.
eBay Items: to pay for your eBay purchases.
When you send money to someone for something that is not a purchase, you have some other choices, such as...
Gift: to send money as a gift, like for a birthday.
Payment Owed: to split things like a dinner bill, or to pay back a debt.
Cash Advance: payment not involving the purchase of goods or services. Your credit card provider may charge fees for a cash advance.
Living Expense: to pay for things like rent or utilities.
Other: for other personal payments.
It sounds to me like the payer labeled their payment with the Payment Owed type instead of the Goods type (which would have made more sense). Which most likely means that this is a payment that you have received from that person. However, I would look in the account activity section of your PP account and make sure that it shows a credit to your account from that person. If it does, then you can be sure you received the payment.
Good luck!
