Projects in the Snow
Projects in the Snow
My three Fiats. Had to shuffle them around yesterday so thought it was the perfect time for a group photo. Green 72 on the left is a good runner, pretty much all original (cept the front bumper . Just got done sealing/recoating tank and cleaning lines. I should have at least cleaned off the dust, jeesh.
Green 71 in the background just parts car, is full of bondo and welds and rust, but plenty of good stuff left.
Orange 71 on right is the next project, I got it as a collection of boxes and junk. Have not yet had it into the shop to see if it is sound, I know it has some rust issues behind the RF tire, PO has cut away some of the lower fender there. If the orange one seems solid, it will get this set-up.
WIsh I had more time to pursue perfection with these fun cars. I fix cars for a living, (32 years) and wasn't sure I would enjoy wrenching in my spare time, but I find it really fun and relaxing to fix something just for me.

I can see all the pictures, and I even see all that white stuff on the ground in the first picture. Did you say that stuff was called snow? Must be some sort of weather phenomenon, very interesting.
I like your cars, but I think you need another orange one. Even a dirty engine with dual carbs is still exciting to look at.

Re: Projects in the Snow
Snowed another 4" today, glad I had em out Saturday. It will eventually get to the point they become snowed in in their storage area, then they wait for spring. I don't have room in the shop to store em, and I get tired of digging them out.
Wish some of you would move further north so I could get parts easier....

Keith. does your parts car have a decent lower right fender? You mentioned rust, bondo ect. but I'm looking for the the lower part only that houses the turn signal. I' m(Fred actually) putting a 79 fender on a 72 but need to swap the part below the headlights.

Montana eh. Spent the summer in 73 in Rollins on Flathead Lake. After going over the neck and head of the horse a few times finally got the hang of it. (the landing anyway). That horse had good brakes (whoas?)

Apparently you didn't get the memo from Al Gore about all this global warming we're suffering. The snow isn't really snow, it is dust from the dried up lakebeds of yesterdays Great Lakes. I'd be able to buy more parts for my Spider but I've spent it all paying the extra taxes that are helping to fight off global warming. Anyone have some Kool Aid?
