my dawg is a jerk, or ... how i met Swede

Post by mbouse »

well, i received a PM yesterday from Swede. he was inquiring about some parts i may have from the recent tear down of a parts car. He said he was in Ann Arbor for a couple of days. Ann Arbor is only about a 90 minute drive through deer infested highways from my house.

I invited Swede (aka Robert) to drive down and we'd spend some time in the garage telling Spider stories. He accepted  My wife thought i was kidding when i told her a guy i met on the internet was coming to our house...and that he lives in Sweden. har har har, "long drive" says she.

Turns out, Swede is truly a world class traveler for his job, and was in Ann Arbor fixing some pretty sophisticated electronic equipment for the U of M Hospital. 8)

anyway, Swede and i had a couple hours of enjoyable Fiat-speak, and he was able to find some dash boards he needs for his project.

ya meet the nicest folks at Fiat Spider dot Com. sometimes you get lucky enough to shake their hands. my dawg is a jerk! she would not take the camera and get a picture of the two of us.

sure he'd appreciate that. according to what he shared with me, mechanical replacement parts aren't difficult to find as they are shared with other body styles, but trim parts like the dash boards are Spider specific and as scarce as hens' teeth over there.

Mike,

I’m sorry that I missed this post the first time.

Now I’m back in cold Sweden 4-5 foot snow and 3-6 Fahrenheit, have had vacation from 19th of December to 10th of January so it’s soon time to start working again.
Next trip coming up is to Seattle, San Francisco, Denver and Kansas City and who know, maybe I will meet up with some Fiat owners during this trip also.

You can take a photo next time, there will always be another visit to the U of M Hospital.

Ted
Ted and other Fiat owners,
Just let me know when you’re in Sweden, maybe we can meet up somewhere
