Re: have a howlin' good day
Thanks Mike. First time I have been on this site in at least five months. I just found out I am getting my car back from the body shop next week, so I am a little fired up to start working on the car again! Nice to see mostly the same folk's still doing the bulk of the posting.

Happy Birthday, Kuhndg! You know we'll be expecting pictures when your car comes back for the paint shop. I'd advise you not to disappoint us.

Re: have a howlin' good day
Actually it went in in April. They worked on it when they had time and I didn't push them. We took it down to the bare metal and meticulously straitened the car out. Its going to be badge-less and bumper-less. I stopped over to look at it this afternoon and it looks awesome. I will post pics when I get it home, hopefully next week.
Re: have a howlin' good day
i interviewed a guy that generally does muscle cars in this fashion... six months for a restoration.. he said, this is the first Fiat i have looked at.
after he quoted me $15k for the job... mindful that i am doing all the trim and interior work... i suggested it would be a long time before he actually gets to work on any Fiat.
seven months this guy has had your car? wowzers, did you win the lottery?

Re: have a howlin' good day
Restoration work is labor intensive. 6 months to a year is not unrealistic, especially if the shop is doing it during down time or between jobs.

Re: have a howlin' good day
The "bare tub" restoration on my spider took about 10 months. Not an unusaul time, and well worth the results when you get it back together.
Re: have a howlin' good day
I've been doing mine for about seven months. Just getting it to the painting stages. Between working and keeping the family happy. Though I put some long days in when the weather was good. I hope to have it on the road next year.
I can't wait to see your pic's. My car too will be badgeless and bumberless.

Happy birthday Bob. I was wondering where you went.
Badgeless: Guys, where is your Fiat pride? Just be prepared for the stupid questions , "Umm is that an MG, duh?"

Thanks Matt,
I fell into Summer mode and became busy spending time with my family up on the Wisconsin River in the Wisconsin Dells. Back to reality! It really amazes me nothing has changed on this site.

The Wisconsin Dells...home of the indoor water parks. Ron and I stumbled upon this place around midnight one Friday on our way to Minneapolis to pick up a parts car. We needed a hotel room and this was the only town for miles. We were amazed when the girl at the hotel said she only had one room left. Who in their right mind would spend a weekend in the middle of nowhere? That's when we first heard of an indoor water park.I thought it was the silliest thing I'd ever heard, but now there's even an indoor park in NC.

Does that mean you can pay for it when you have time?
Re: have a howlin' good day
Denise, The Upper Dells is one of the most beautiful places I know in this part of the country. Middle of nowhere? Maybe. I find a sandbar, park the boat, take in the scenery....last year without exaggeration, I was 30 yards away from a bald eagle perched on a log looking right at me, I love that stuff!
Pope,
I wish. But I did barter the paint job with which helped out a little bit. I am looking forward to posting pics.

Happy Birthday, I too wondered where you had gone to. I called the store a couple of times and both times you were out
