how fast can your cars go?

Post by NebraskaSpider »

I was wondering if any one knew what their could do as far as zero to sixty, top speed, braking distance ect... I would be interested to know what your cars stats are and what the modifications did for the car. I have found some stats online of what the original Fiat Spider was capable of, but wonder what modified cars or stock cars now can do.

Here's a 1/4 mile drag strip printout from a run I gave SPYDUH on a social drive to 'watch' the drags  . We were in the left lane and got pipped by a V8 MGB.

Elapsed time 16.9 secs @ 79.2 mph
SPYDUH is a '76 CS1 with a standard 'Euro/Aus spec' 2-litre from a 131 Superbrava running twin side draft Webers.

Alvon and I had checked ours via a cell phone and stop watch but we did it on a rolling start and only to 60 mph. It would be cool to compare. If the rain ever stops here, I may take mine out and see what it'll do from a dead stop to 80 mph.

I have a 79 California Carb'd model. That means 0-60 in about three days, 1/4 mile in a month and 0-100 never.

My kid was following me in my silverado, he sain he was doing 125 and I was pulling away. With stock gearing and less motor my other spider topped at at 108, but it got there quick.

0-60 in about 4.o flat, 1/4 mile in 11.5 on street tires, and about 184 flat out although I've only done about 160. Wait a minute, that's the S55. Sorry, I'll have to time the Spider another day.
