Road test of the 'BradyBelter' seat belt guides!!

Post by ga.spyder »

I ordered a set of Brady's seat belt guides,that were an improved set,similar to the very expensive ones that are ordered from Germany.I find the design to be simple ,but extremely functional.Thay are not cheap plastic,but made from serious steel.The car may rust away,but the belt guides will remain!! :D Installation took minutes,after painting them to match my interior.The seat belt is east to install ,but there is no way for it to come out.I will never have to contend with removing the stock ,plastic guides again.I do this seasonally to put my sheepskin covers on in the cooler temps. A bonus is that the belt is held a little higher off the seat,making the belt a lot more comfortable for me.It is a very nice product,and an affordable upgrade.You cant tell it isnt a stock item.Nice job,Brady :!: Here are some pix;

Wow, that looks great! I'll have to get my order in ASAP. I also ordered the ones from Spider Point but found them to be lacking in that they didn't retain the belt well at all so I sent them back. This looks like a very nice solution at the same cost as two new plastic OEM clips!

That is a very nice design! Too bad all my Spiders only have lap belts.

Wow Craig,
The guides look nice that color. It might be good to share the color paint you used. Those seats look comfy.

brilliant. We had been talking to a seat belt mfg at SEMA about guides, but those are a great solution

Hi
My name is Tiger Woods, and I wish I had seat belt restraints as nice as those. Probably would have helped in hitting the hydrant.
Good work Brady.

Hey Brady, the interior color is Camel. The p/o had dyed all the interior pieces that color, and I didnt know it wasnt a stock color until I attended my first Fiat event.People kept asking about the color and I didnt have a clue  Eastwood has that color in their SEM Vinyl paint. The belt guides honestly look better in person than in the pix.Great job,and glad my 82 got to 'model' the first set.

Craig,

They look great on the car and Brady did an excellent job on those guides... Mine are at the prototype shop waiting it's turn to be milled then off to the chrome shop... should have some samples by the end of the year ready for winter projects...

I'm also working some other designs for the car and I'm sure you'll like them when they're done... all tastefully done as if Fiat had a good engineering/asthetics team this time around.

Hi Craig,
Just Ordered my set of Brady Seat Belt guides. They really do look nice. Wife complained about the oem seat belt guides so they have to go. I also ordered an additional heat shield for the 1980 Fiat. You never know what Brady is going to come up with next.

Brady,

Nice work. Is it possible you could make these with longer tubes so the headrest doesn't keep lowering itself? I like the looks of the headrest full down, but for driving I try to keep it behind the head. They just don't want to stay there.

From the pictures it looks like the shoulder belt is further away from the driver's neck. That's one of my gripes with the stock arrangement. I keep pulling the belt onto my shoulder when I drive to keep it from digging into my neck. Makes me OK with the other Spiders having lap belts only (except when my wife or boys are driving them).

Ernie,

sounds like a clip is missing from your assembly if the headrests don't stay where you put them.

unfortunately, you gotta remove the vinyl to access those tubes for the headrest posts.

Ernie,Mike is right(as usual). My headrests stay where I put 'em.I dont think it has anything to do with the guides. The guides do hold the belt away from your neck.I had the same complaint, and on a long ride I have scraped a raw spot on my neck from the belt rub.The wife would give me the evil eye  and ask ''what is that on your neck''?
