fuel check valve
Re: fuel check valve
I really like the 32/36dfev carbs and have installed lots of them. I now have access to new EMPI carbs. They are licensed by Weber to make the carbs, using all the same parts as the Webers and they're quite a bit cheaper
Re: fuel check valve
maybe when you had the carbonater rebuilt you replaced the thick base gasket with a thin gasket and your carb is getting hotter than usual and you just don't know it. Which will cause your fuel to evaporate. As for the the valve. I agree that that isn't the problem. that just stops the fuel from going backwards in your fuel line. Unless your Mechanic forgot to install an O ring somewhere by accident of course.
Re: fuel check valve
boiling the fuel in the carb is a possibility, but I usually don't see that happening except in extreme temperatures during the summer
Re: fuel check valve
Today, after running the electronic fuel pump about 15 seconds before using the starter and pressing down more on the gas pedal, I cut the start up time in about half. We'll see what it is like after a tune up.
Re: fuel check valve
I just got the Fiat back. I had plugs, oil and filters replaced and had installed new plug wires, gas tank sender unit, and check fuel valve. The car runs great. It started from cold on the first try. My mechanic said that the check fuel valve was defective from age and was restricting the flow of fuel to the carb. It may be a combination of all of the above or the replacement of the check fuel valve, but the car is running great and has a marked improvement in performance.
Mark, do those lights you sell work as turn signals? I am assuming that they do.
