So, my registration is up in Jan of 10 and I have to get an inspection done. I know I have been ignoring some issues since I purchased the car back in July of this year so it was time to address them. Here is a list of items I need to fix. Feel free to add any you think I may have missed.
1) check guibo for cracks
2) replace or lube E brake line - left rear sticks.
3) Replace front rubber brake lines
4) Replace timing belt
5) tet to the bottom of the electrical issues concerning the fan and horn and the left rear tail light.
6) Look into that one tiny rust spot.
So, I got her up in the ait, pulled out the creaper and went to town with a big shop light. The one rust spot I knew about was still there. About the size of a quater and under the passinger's wheel well. WHAT I NEVER NOTICED WAS, the rust along the floor pans joining to the frame. Man, no rust anywhere else but under the rear windows in the rear floor pans right against the frame. I am so bummed.
Also, the front brakes seem to drag a bit more than they should when turned by hand. And, the front brake line looks like frankenstein with multiple metal lines spliced together to making the connection.
All in all not bad but the rust really bothers me.

Yeah, that rust is a bummer. The location you describe is a common trouble spot, from top leakage and plugged drains. At least it's something you can see to work on, unlike the electrical gremlins!
Good luck with your repairs, and let us know how you make out with the federales.
