I am sure there is a easy way to do this, i just haven't figured it out.
Trying to reinstall my windshield with a new gasket. First problem i have is shrinkage on the top corners. Second, didn't seat properly. I was doing this with my son last night, and rather than fight it i was hoping there would be someone that had step by step instructions for this, or any tricks that may make this easier.
Thanks,
Bob

Definitely a first time challenge! I called a local glass shop to do it for me and he wouldn't touch it. He did offer some pointers although. Soapy water, glass tool with a little ball on the end, and a lot of patience.

Re: windshield gasket installation
I have found that this is sometimes an advantage to owning these cars. Some pros are afraid to touch them so they will give up valuable information to help a guy or girl out. Don't get me wrong, I respect and trust my professionally trained mechanic that works on my other cars, but the Fiat is my hobby car and I want to do as much wrenching on it as it needs. And it's always a learning experience. Not that I want it to break down.....kuhndg wrote:Definitely a first time challenge! I called a local glass shop to do it for me and he wouldn't touch it.
