I wanted something that showed all the owners cars located on a map along with some info about the owners, cars, family, etc... not really a 'real registry' but others asked for the functioning resigtry and that will be included later but since a lot have said the registries exists in other countries with thousands of entries (whether the site is running or not) I have to give it some thought about whether to pursue that path... otherwise it's just a map with info about us and our cars...

It gives us a chance to see and read about our cars stories without having to post them here since alot of people outside this forum could care less about 'mechanics and wrenching' on our cars... they just want the 'other' info in our lives and this is a way of conveying that... of course a pic of the cars would be nice too.

Trey... I saw that and it's kinda cool if you want to pay $$$ to join... my site is free... no charge ever, and later you can update the info at any time or change in the cars status... Maybe it's a duplicate effort to do another map... we'll see how it goes...

I'm really working hard to get this off the ground to get other stuff in the works later...

The icons on the map will appear soon without clicking the States...

Nick, I think it is coming along nicely, and it's getting populated too! I am looking forward to being able to update my own data. I'll add proper photos, VINs, status of the car, etc.

Could you do a "right click to open the flag and see the data"? Instead of zooming in?

Good work. Now if we could get it put permanently on the top of the forum, or near the top (just the link and a description, not this thread) so that people will be aware of it...

Nick:
I think Halg's question was more along the lines of "What cars are welcome on the map?"
Are we / you limiting this to certain models? Or should he send you ALL of his cars?
I'm no Boy-Racer..... but if I can't take every on-ramp at TWICE the posted limit.... I'm a total failure!

Well... just like this forum.... we try to keep the cars to limited to Fiats and I think that would be prudent to do so, otherwise we would have Hondas, Jeeps, Fords, Hummers, BMW's, etc. and it would take away from what we're trying to do which is get the Fiat Spider community together in one handy site.

Also I not trying to compete with any other sites out there... and it's up to Mark and this forum owner to link the map to this forum... I don't think that was in any plans I had... but it's not outside the realm of good ideas.

I'm frustrated Nick. I click on an owner icon and a couple of them showed the car, but most of them just make the map bigger. What am I doing wrong?

Yes I noticed that too... seems there is a 'sweet' spot where the cursor will click the icon, once the car icon shows up then the info box appears... trying to work that out... it's a matter of the script coding... I may have to code it so that when your cursor moves over the icon the info box appears instantly without a click of the mouse... patience... patience... it'll work out in the end...

Nick,

This is awesome. I have only joined the forum within the last year and I personally loose track of where folks are from and this would be a great way to look up people that are in my area and who may be close to where you may travel for vacation that you may be able to meet up with if you are taking your Fiat.

Great Idea, I Like it

Ray(Cincifiat) I'll sned in my pics and information.

The site has been updated so far... hope you like the look of it... any inputs are greatly appreciated.

The links to the license plate buttons are still in the works but progressing at a snail's pace due to other projects.

Be sure to turn on the music to your computer... Any suggestions for music?

Enjoy,

Nick
