You know, I have to admit that that is a really good observation  . I don't know what I was thinking.

You must repent. During the next Bond Marathon you must watch at least 3 of the early bond moves.

Now back on subject. Is there anything on your car that does not come on. lights, fan, etc. Does the button go click or does it just push in and pop back out. I am gusssing a switch for the radiator fan or ignition and they must have fixed the problem and disconnected it since secon wire is not on.

I think it is a kill switch for my car? Every time he pushed it my car died? Now it's in the shop. Can you leave it alone for a little bit so I can get it finished?

If the button does not go to a smoke screen or what all dash buttons should (Machine guns) then it probably rotates your license plate so you can get through road side check stations.

Did you check and see if you have neon lights under your car?

Is there a blue bottle in your trunk that looks like a small scuba tank?

Air horns?

Are there aftermarket hydraulics attached to your top?

Optional wine and cheese cooler?

Scenic overlook date night kill switch. "Sorry honey the car just died, I guess we're stuck here for a while? "

Does it deploy your submersible submarine gear?

I thought Ron would have chimmed in by now but Gunsmith I like how you think! LOL

But Katsi back on the subject. It pushes in (no click or doesn't stay in) like maybe a kill switch but surprisingly the car continues to run. There are too many things that don' work that it could be but the cooling fan does work.
Horn doesn't but I think that is a bad relay(not fixed yet) I'll stick a meter on it this weekend and see if it has juice but it really doesn't seem to work anything. I may need to track down the PO to see if he knows.

Looks like the activation switch for a reverse threaded, left-handed, oscillating canuter valve to me. What do we win if we get it right?

My guess is a trunk release. Did you look in the trunk for a solenoid? Or maybe it wakes you up when you fall asleep when driving and hit your head on the dash (in case hitting your head on the dash doesn't do the job).

That's it! A trunk release. Have you checked your trunk for a trunk monkey yet?

I think it was probably once a push button for starter as Mark first suggested.

Or

It once went AAAOOGGGAAAA when pressed
I changes traffic lights from Red to Green (you know you want one of them)
Intercom button to talk to people all the way in the back of car

Look at all the fun I miss, working away from home a week at a time.
You want a glimpse of where my brand of humor came from? My Dad put a push botton on a 53 Chevy he had and when he was getting ready to pass gas, he'd say: "Push the button."
I don't know who slole his idea and changed it to "pull my finger."
