Back In The Game
Well, after a 38 year absence, I'm back in the game. Drove home in my new '80 Fi this afternoon. Made a deal with Spider Jim in Campbell River and must say I appreciate the work he did in keeping this beauty in mint condition. 64k kms and absolutely no rust. Looking forward to many kms of top down driving!!! Will post some pics once I figure out how to do so.

Re: Back In The Game
Well done!!!! glad it worked out
Keep a couple of days free around May 22nd. I believe a few will be in Victoria for a cruise perhaps to Whistler with a stop at the Crow and Gate. I'd love to see the car, it looked great in the pics but "live" is best.

Re: Back In The Game
Congratulations! Although, it must have been a sad day for Jim.
And I thought my 26 years between Spiders was a long dry spell.
Have you seen this thread on how to post pics?

You have one of the most beautiful Spiders in the Province. I really love the colour of your car. Turin Green makes your car classy and sophisticated, while retaining its sporty nature.
I live in Vancouver and I hope to see your gorgeous car in person one day. Enjoy your car! Oh by the way, I know it’s hard to stop smiling every time you look at your car, but I promise you that the pain in your cheeks will go away after a few weeks!

Thanks, Eugenio. It would be interesting to know how many Fiat owners there are in BC. I know of 3 here on Vancouver Island, one in Naramata and now you in Vancouver. Anyone else out there?

Re: Back In The Game
Not counting you guys on the Island and Chris in Naramata, I know of about 10 more Spiders in the Vancouver Area and in fairly good condition …mostly in the Italian community. I suspect there are others. There are always a bunch at the Italian Car Show that takes place at the Italian Cultural Centre in July and the Italian Car Show and Shine in North Vancouver. There are a number of 131s and quite a number of Lancias as well.

Re: Back In The Game
Courtenay, there are , I believe, 4 other spiders(that are drivers)in the Penticton area. I'm doing my best here to get a couple of semi interested folk to take the fiat plunge as well.
There is a fellow dropping a 2L into a scorpian and his dad has a 850 just down the road from me.

Re: Back In The Game
Yes Eugenio, I would probably make the trip over from Sooke (i.e. Victoria) for that show. So please keep us informed.
By the way, Courtenay, there are actually a few running Spiders in Victoria. I know because I see them parked in town from time to time (two yellow, a beautiful black one, an orange one, a green one...). I talked to one fellow in the Home Depot lot a summer ago. But otherwise I can only identify Greg and his black '80 (carbed) and Jim with his Volumex, and then me. Then there is Cosmo on Salt Spring (but hasn't posted since last August..., and then we head north to you folks.
I also know of several parked in yards in Victoria, but not running. I don't think we can count most of those.
