Thanks... Yeah... I see that... not a lot of players I thought... either case I updated the site again to add the 'Join Us' link, the 'Photos' link, and the 'Contact Us' link... working on the 'Sponsors' and '4Sale' links...

Nick, I am impressed with what you have done, and I'm a big fan of this map idea (see my earlier post in this thread) but I do think you need to get a couple of things added before people will be encouraged to add their info:

1.) When I look at the map (at least at a state or province) I can see the individual flags, but having to zoom in and in and in to finally get to the info is tedious. Can you make it possible to right click or simply zoom in with a single click? Something along those lines? Or am I missing something.

2.) We need to be able to add our own info/flag and do updates, such as add photos, on our own. I suggest you create the forms page real soon.

Please do not take this as criticism. I'm just keen to have people using the map. I have some other ideas too (including how to promote the use of the map), but those can wait for now.

By the way, the map I earlier referred to in this thread is at: http://www.frappr.com/tr7worldwide I see it is on the verge of being removed (was private, not part of that forum, like yours), but is still there for now. It might give you some ideas, not that I think it is any better overall.

I added my info to a few of these maps in the past, but either I missed this particular Frappr, or I've been dropped from it. For the map to be useful to me, I think it should provide a mechanism for me to contact anyone on the map.

My preferences would include:
1) a photo of the person and their cars
2) Detailed description of their cars, including modifications done, past history of the car (if known)
3) Contact information for the owner

Without this information, the map is more of a novelty than useful. Some people may be reluctant to give out this information -- that's where it breaks down.

Best is to click the 'states' first and then click the blue cars, I want a 'hover' over the flags and the pop-up shows up automatically (no mouse clicking) but that is a javascript feature and labor intensive to create for me right now.

You can now do updates by filling out the form... but getting the data on to the map and flags on the States will still need to be done manually, my webserver will not allow CGI scripting unless I go full commercial and I'm not there yet $$$ to do this.

No offense taken, I want this input... the map is for you as it is for me... I just want it to work and I see it as a useful tool to get everyone together just like this site... I saw that site... it has good feature but I do not want to emulate that site... how many times would you have gone to that site if you were a member? I hoping to make my site a daily occurance where just like this forum you actually use it... maybe they could co-exist with each other.

Alvon... if you look at the pop-up window there is a link to a website or email if they so decide to add such, the pic of the person is great but just like the info in the car pics it's what you want to provide, some people want anonymous submittal and some don't want sensitive info posted... everything else is game... did you see the Photos page and what could be posted on the back of each picture (try the arrow on the pic), it flips the pic and you can post whatever you'd like on it.

The form is giving me some hassle and had to go around the webserver limitations but I think it works now... try using the form submission with data...
