Hey, Im redoing the interior and im on that parking brake chrome bezel.. 84 spider.
there are 4 glass squares on the 4 corners of the chrome bezel. Im guessing they light up somehow with the word HEAT or other words being visible at night.
I have 5 unidentified wires coming up my center console to the parking brake area.. one of them has a connecting sleave that i believe will hook up to the parking brake light switch... then there are 4 black wires that have little metal looking tops on them with white plastic clips to apparantly hold it onto something.. Im guessing these 4 black wires go to the 4 corners of the chrome bezel probably to light up the corners.. the entry hole on the back of the chrome bezel is extremely small. it looks like it can hold the black wire... My question is... is there a super tiny microscopic light bulb inside the glass area of the chrome bezel. ? am i missing the light bulbs ? Does it use light bulbs? lol I have no idea.. the previous owner had smashed the chrome bezel and i got a new one.. trying to get lights on corners if they are supposed to be that way. or identify the purpose of the 4 black wires... My car is missing the illumanated light box that goes in front of the off / lo / hi switch for the heater fan... I have not found any wires in the area that would seem to light this light box up when i do get it.. So thats an extra question in there.. where do the light box wires come from ?
thanks for your help. Ill get a pic on here once i figure out how too

Re: parking brake bezel questions
Those are not wires - they're fiber optic. Chances are your replacement bezel will not accommodate them, to illuminate the labels. Does your new bezel look like the one in the plastic bag and is it made of plastic? If so, it won't work with the fiber. The original is on the left - note the difference in the symbols - and it's metal.

Re: parking brake bezel questions
so they have little light bulbs on the tip of that black wire ? kewl deal.. i have the bezel on the left.. I got a new one to me but it was used before i got it... so maybe the lights will work? just stick them in the holes and pray.. right ?
Re: parking brake bezel questions
is one of those black lights for the little light box in front of the bezel and off/ hi / lo switch ?
Re: parking brake bezel questions
My fiat is a 1980 and the bulb that feeds the fiber optic cable is in the lower center of the dash to the left of the console, you can trace the cables to it. And yes one goes to the Fan Def window.
Re: parking brake bezel questions
how many light wires go into that chrome parking break bezel ? is it 3 or 4 of the corners that get lit ?
I should have 5 black light wires to cover 4 corners plus the def / fan lightbox... mmmmm missing one black light wire maybe.
