Stupid dealership

So last year this dealership was selling a 79 spider for $8,900, so i went and test drove it and ask them to lover the price and they said no. So today by surfing the web i notice they now want $7,900 for it. So i called them up and said i'll buy it for cash for $5,000 and they stil said no.

looks like a nice car, but in my opinion a blue interior is something you should consider staying away from. not easily repairable, replaceable or restorable without a HUGE amount of effort.

let that dealer sit on that car for a while. in the meantime, there are plenty of examples out there for the price you are will ing to pay. keep looking

I went and drove that car too. It's a $4500 car. I told 'em so. He got pissed at me. If you offered him $5k, that was generous of you.

but I don;t know if you;ve noticed that most of the other cars he has advertised are also over-priced.

Probably a front for dealing in illegal polygamy.

Thank You Maytag, i find that really funny that you told them the real price. Im glad im not the only person who had a run in with the dealer. Im sure glad spiders come with a back seat so i can stick all my wives back there.

I guy I worked with had a similar story with a Triumph Stag. He was stationed in Jacksonville for 4 years. He saw the car when it first got on the lot and offered the guy a fair price for it. 3 years later right before he left he offered the guy the same fair price for it and the dealer still would not budge. I think sometimes dealers just like to sit on the flashy cars so there lot stands out. Gives people something to look at before they buy the 1998 Ford Taurus with 123,000 miles.

I also went and looked at this car (for mbouse) and told them I wasn't worth that much. He came back with the response 'its a clean California car' I told him it wasn't a California car because the owners manual showed it was originally sold in Wisconsin and an old insurance card said it was registered in Colorado. He got all mad at me and said it has a Cal title so its a Cal car. I told him the Cal plate was the new style (5 series) maybe 2 years old and that doesn't make it a Cal car. I left. The guy is an idiot.
