I just heard from Red. He was heading down from Jacksonville to the Car show in Zephryhill. His transmission started making a noise around the Gainsville area. He is turning around and heading home. He probably has at least 100 miles to go.
So cross your fingers, go out to your car and give your transmission a nice rub (it might work)and lets hope Red makes it back with out to much damage.

Re: Forget the flag pole and cross your fingers
Well my wife and I were blessed by the fiat gods. We made it back to jax. My transmission will have to be pulled. I will know the damage then. It shift fine. But makes a loud knocking noise in 1,2,3,and 5th. 4th was the only quiet gear. Also there was a serious whine so it sounds like the bearings are toast. Not to mention it still leaks so bad. We drove on a curb and the wife and I pumped more fluid in it and limp home. Thank you all for your prayers

Re: Forget the flag pole and cross your fingers
Maybe this show was cursed. The little 500 abarth thing had some problems the show, a Jaguar got a flat, leaves got into everyones cars because it was all under trees. Not to mention there was a bird in tress that crapped on at least 6 cars. There was a 1940 Triumph (I think) convertable that got its rumble seat covered by the bird.
When I was pulling my car into the warehouse I noticed a rattling noise coming from the engine. I think it has to do with the valves. Will have to check it out when I have more time. I will post photos later.
