Hi fellas. I thought I'd pass along an improved product for our Fiats designed by Jim Fierst at Whoa Brakes. I was asked to test this product and offer my professional opinion ...well, I was actually selected because of my height, weight, gender and age.
The short shifter Jim designed replaces the chrome shifter along with the plastic inserts and rubber grommets with a brushed aluminum one. It took an easy 5 minutes to install and, once installed, looks more proportioned to the interior of the car. I took the car for a test drive and was pleasantly surprised by the feel. I noticed right away that my shifts felt crisper and with no more force than the longer one. I've been told the reason for the crisper feel is it eliminates the extra movement made by the rubber grommets. The shifter has been shortened by appr 2 inches, so I didn't have a problem reaching to change gears. In fact, I was able to go into 5th without leaving my seat! I highly recommend this product for anyone wanting a shorter shifter. I am in no way affiliated with Whoa Brakes and my conscience wouldn't let me hype a product I didn't approve of. It's so easy, even a 100 lb grandmother can enjoy it.
