Names and Faces

Post by courtenay »

Chris (Narfire) called yesterday to say he was on the Island and wanted to come up to Courtenay to meet me and then head up to Campbell River to hook up with Jim (SpiderJim). A great opportunity to connect names and faces of some fellow Fiat enthusiasts. Figured I'd better wash the car before he arrived...

It was a nice day so we drove the 40 minutes up to Campbell River to meet with Jim and see how he was progressing on his restoration...

That's Jim (left) and Chris admiring the new paint job. Jim obviously has a bit of work to do to get his baby roadworthy and figures he's a month away.

We got caught in a classic west coast rain shower on the way home and had to stop on the highway to put the top up...I think it was one of the few times my car has been driven in the rain.

That would be neat - but I'm not sure what xweb is.

Xweb is the forum for X19s. We could do the same thing here so everyone knows who they're talking to. Sure woulda been nice if this was done before my trip to SoCal!

Denise, Gilles came over saturday to buy a fender for his Milano. He was telling me about the drive and said he was talking to some lady. Didnt know who the heck she was, but she was so funny. It was you, someone later told him who you were. This new thread who have avoided that.

This can be a great thread. I hope everyone contributes.

I do suggest a bigger photo because I can't see the folks in that photo  :)

If I remember correctly, he had the Martini X19 in red, white and blue and was planning a business trip to NC? I told him he could take a ride in my X racer at VIR .....if it was put together in time. :? I didn't even think to introduce myself.

Of course, Mark didn't need an introduction from me even without my Mule.

Im confused, was Denise riding a mule, or hanging out with a mule?

I've been accused of being as stubborn as one (mule), so maybe it fits. And that would be hanging, not riding. Rey, you see what you missed?

Now, Mark has it all wrong -- Denise was driving Ron Luxmore's ride most of the afternoon, and suffering for it (it was one of those new fangled 82's  ). She did have quite an enjoyable time in the morning, driving Gary Poage's early '69 spider on scenic back roads from Ventura to Woodland Hills. There's Ron and Kimberly in the '82, trying to tell us to slow down I think:
Image

And here's miss mischeivous herself, driving Gary's '69, and getting ready to point at something, using the NC pointing finger :

And here's the 2 sisters with my good wife Maureen for a twilight picture along the coast on the way home:
