You did a great job! Did you use the same mounting holes as the stock bumpers? These look like they're positioned just right.

I guess I missed something, I thought this thread was about removing the bumpers and replacing lights? Why replace the lights if the bumpers are still on?

It looks great to me Mighty I really love the early Bumpers
vs the Tube style ! I was thinking of doing the same if i
end up keeping my 79 !

Thanks so much, gents, for the replies. It was a project many years in the making, and I am so happy with the results. Well worth it, indeed!

As far as the mounting holes, yes they are from the original mounts.

The new bumpers were welded unto the original bumper shocks, which had been cut practically in half and removing the "innards." The next step was simply bolting them right back on to the car. It sounded like a piece of cake, but I'm sure the mechanic really earned his money by assuring that they would beperfectly level once completed(front and back) which I tend to agree he did perfectly.
