really home made heat shield

Post by narfire »

After cooking the vacume advance, and the rubber intake getting bl...y hot,I thought I'd have a go at a shield of some sort.
Friend had an old aluminum sign 1/16th thick material.
Bought some metal cutting blades for the jig-saw and hacked something out that will mount with three of the cam tower bolts and bent it upwards a tad.

No idea if it will work, but once the rain stops and I get a few days with the car I'll see if the intake is not as hot

as long as it has an air gap on each side, it will help. Pretty important for the intake boot to stay cooler too
