Re: World Cup Soccer
Just watched the game...I can't imagine how frustrating it must be to play against Italy. If you go anwhere near them they fall down cluthcing their face and screaming in agony. Nobody cheats like the Italians in soccer, and yet they continue to get away with it. I just don't understand why they play that way....think they could still probably be competitive with the best if they were to play a clean honest game.
Big upset though....good to see New Zealand do well.
Cheers,
Jim

No kidding, and he was clouted on the side of his head to boot. At least he should get the part that was affected right.
I think the Americans were robbed of a win, I believe the ref did not want them to win... thats why the real quick whistle.(my opinion only) I'd love to see them and perhaps Auz and NZ get into the next round.(NZ keeper was fantastic today and NZ just about got the winner with a few minutes to play) Sounds Like France is having a melt down/ team wobbly

Re: World Cup Soccer
Zidane was quoted the week before World Cup that France coach has not been successful in building a team spirit...and that will be their downfall. How correct was that.
Yah, US were robbed of a win for sure. And, Brasil's Kaka was also deal a wrong ejection. That Ivory coast plaler should be heavily fined for that acting.
Gotta admit thought that with these upset it's making for a real interesting tournament.
By the way... no disrepect intended to all you Italians out there...it's just your soccer team that are poor sports (in my opionion anyways).
Cheers,
Jim

USA! USA!
Quite a wild game today, but what a Finish.
It has been a fun World Cup so far.

Great job team USA. Watched some of the highlites tonight, that offside was sooooo close. Anyway good luck, they played well today. Did'nt get to see the England game after the first goal, but it sounded like that was all that was needed.
As for the French... perhaps an Irish Druid placed a curse...

Poor Bwitten.. Those youngters from Gemany were great to watch. Great speed/ counters.
Although controversial, perhaps FIFA should get with the 70's and have the option for looking at the replays, yet another blown call/goal. Lampard can sure crack that ball.
Now time to blow a good Sunday and watch Argentina/Mexico
