WeatherShield Interior Cover

My 80FI is a daily driver and I like to keep the top down while I have it parked at work but don't want the Texas sun beating it to death. Anyone out there have any experience using one of these? IAP offers them for $90 and it looks like it just attaches around the car with velcro and covers the interior. I have a car cover but its just too much of a pain to pull it out everyday unless its raining. What do you guys/gals think?

A good idea, yes. I made up a similar cover (nowhere near as tailor-made) to cover SPYDUH when parked at work. It keeps the bird droppings, leaves and dust out. I'll try and find time to take a pic for you.

Hi Rick,
I purchased one from IAP . I keeps the sun from burning up your interior and keeps the sea gull poop off of your seats ( I live near the New Jersey shore). It is easy on and off and you can tuck it behind the seat or in the trunk. It even works with the Brady Breeze Beater that I have installed. While it does work, mine seems to be a little small. I currently have another Spider out being restored and plan on purchasing another cover. I would recomend this with the reservation that you check it for fit as soon as the package arrives. George

I have been lucky with the bird poop at work thus far, but I know it is only a matter of time. I have to get one of these.

This is what I use on SPYDUH. It's just heavy cotton cloth with a hem folded over and sewn in at each end. A couple of eyelets are placed strategically into the hem next to the windscreen wiper posts and the chrome hooks on the rear scuttle to facititate the use of reusable plastic zip ties which hold it in place. It cost next to nothing to make and works well, as long as it doesn't rain.

Curly, that woven mesh grill is a nice touch. I painted my stock vent grills silver, IMHO it looks much better than black.

George, The IAP one looks like it attaches to the wipers and mirrors in the front to secure it. How does it attach to the rear sides and trunk?

Hi,
It attaches to the front wipers, the mirrors, the door handles and it has four nylon tabs that you slip under the trunk lid and then close the trunk to lock them in place. It's really easy on and off. As I look at the stock picture I can see that mine is too short.I think I have to call IAP and discuss an exchange for the correct one. I will see if I can post a couple pics. But I do like having it. George

Those look handy.
I still use my cover. I bought a "Noha" several years ago and use it all the time. Tonight it took about 90 seconds at the most to put on, and it'll protect the paint from those birds that like a nice red target.

I like it! Maybe an elastic loop to attach to side view mirrors, and even a little breeze wouldn't dislodge it. How about a big red bull's eye in the middle so the birds don't hit your hood or trunk?

If you could, next time you use your IAP cover will you let me know where the seams run through it. I'm wondering if they run on the colored lines on this pic?

Yup . I just can't see paying $90 +shipping for one from IAP. Seems a little much for what your getting.
