Hi there - I'm trying to determine where 2 black wires go to in the engine compartment of a 1981 Spider:
1) The first is a black wire attached to the rear of the passenger side cam. It goes towards the passenger side fender well. Not too sure if it is for the coil.
2) The other black wire is coming from the main harness on the passenger side. It has a spade terminal.
I'm going to try to attach pics but any help would be much appreciated.
Many thanks.

The one on the cam tower goes to a mounting bolt on the coil's heat sink base. The only other separate wire my 82 has there is going to the coil.

Re: Black wires - where to - help please
OK. Thanks for the help. That's what someone else mentioned. The black wire from the cam tower is for the coil even though the coil is already grounded by the bolts that bolt them into the fenderwell. I'll still run that wire to the coil though.
It appears that the other black wire is for a device for driving in high altitudes. I don't have that device so I don't need the wire which is probably why I never labelled it when I started taking everything apart.
Thanks again for the help.
