Re: Stuck choke
I presume it is an early manual choke car.
Take off the air cleaner.
Slightly open the throttle to ensure it is not holding the choke open or on the "step"
Undo the choke cable to be able to open the choke.
Now open the choke manually
Now push the choke knob in.
You may find that the choke is already closed and that what has happened is that when you pulled the choke cable up and it pulled the cable through the choke mechanism. If this is the case you will see the choke fully open and the cable cannot travel towards the carburetor any farther. Sometimes when this happens the cable pulls so far out that the connection of the cable to the pull knob pulls out of the housing and you cannot push it back into the housing. If this happens you will need to pull the cable back from the carb end and have someone feed it back in at the knob end.
Try to figure out why the choke knob and cable were not able to return to the normal position before if the problem isn't as stated above. Sometimes the choke mechanism can come apart or have something else foul the motion.
Hope that helps.

Re: Stuck choke
Ok, I got it fixed. Thank you for the detailed reply.
I took off the air cleaner. The choke flaps underneath were stuck in closed position. I forced them open and
things went back to normal.
