Locating spiders on side of the road.
Locating spiders on side of the road.
Well had some fun this last weekend with the wife. We made a little trip over I90 to Cle Elum to my parents for the night. Next day we headed off up I97 over Bluit Pass ( spelling ? ) heading up to Winthrop to a fancy hotel on top of a mountain. I've already forgot the name but a nice place to go to get away from it all. No tv's but there is no lack of things to do to make up for it. Or if you want to just sit and read sure can't beat the veiw. Even thou it rained it still wasn't bad. Well back to the reason I posted . On the way up we are driving along and the wife say's " Hay those looked like a couple of spider rear ends sticking out over the ledge. Well I don't think she liked when I used all the brakes to haul the mini down from speed and whip a yuee to go check it out. Sure enough there are two spiders along with a couple of bugs and a 59 rambler and mid 60's dodge dart and about four trucks with there rear ends sticking out over a bluff next to the road. Took a bit but I found the road to the house and found out that a mini is not what you want to go down a dirt road with. Found a nice flat hood spider with the 1438 still in it and looking like it would fire right up. The other was a wrecked late 70's spider with a 1800 that the guy wanted to put in the car inplace of the 1438. Got their number and a possible will sell just not to sure as it is on of the daughters and she's getting married so she might need the money thing. Funning thing is the younger daughter knew where a couple more spiders were and gave me directions to those. So I have a few more to check out on my way up to the hotel. Checked them out and they were ok but they both looked to be in the middle of being getting ready to be painted. For like the last 10 years so we just said cool and went on our way. Sorry but I won't give up the location just yet still haven't decided if I want it or not. I will post it up if I choose not so someone else has a chance at it.

ahh yes I believe you are going to Sun Mountain Lodge. I know the area well, might just have to take my hauling trailer when I go next week.

Yup that was it. Forgot the name of it when I was typing the story. Have at it I don't think I'll be getting it. I'm not really into driving 4hrs each way just yet for a spider. I can find mostly what I need within an hours drive from me.
