Hey, all... I've had a broken hood hinge for a while. Usually works fine, but sometimes the hood slipped off the hinge while opening. I tried to replace it last night only to find the hinge pin broken off and rusted solid inside the hinge receptacle on the hood. Trying to pound the pin out, I broke the hinge receptacle off of the hood. After soaking all night in penetrating oil and an hour of trying to free the pin by pounding, I've realized I need another hood. Or possibly just a good hood hinge pin receptacle.
Anyone in so cal have a hood on their parts car that they'd trade/sell inexpensively? I have a small bump hood now, so if anyone's got a big bump hood, I'd also need the hinges. Or if someone has a trashed hood with good pin receptacles, that would work also. I could have them welded to my existing hood.
Your help is greatly appreciated. My neighborhood is not very nice and I am stressed out about not having the engine protected. And I can't drive with the hood on until I get this fixed.
