how do I post a little picture on the side like everyone else has with there car or license plate or wearing a hula skirt and cocoa nuts ?

Thats the AVATAR. Go to the User Control Panel. You will find it in there. And to post a photo on this site. You need to first put the photos in a place like photobucket online or it won't ever work. then you just copy the image html thingie and paste it where it says insert here or something like that.

On this site avatars can be directly loaded from your PC without using a photosharing site. Just make sure its saved no larger than 80 pixels high and 80 pixels wide, and the file size is under 6kB.
