Frustration
Frustration
So I had planned all week to dedicate this afternoon into the evening to work on the car. I have a bunch of parts ready to go, and a long list of work to do. Within the first minute I was with the car, I tore a 2 inch hole in the top. Shook that off, installed the carb I rebuilt. Primed the fuel, was trying to get it to idle correctly and poof, the starter crapped out. Moved on to the passenger window regulator only to find one of the little pulley's is broken off as well. Should have opened a beer and watched tv. LOL

Re: Frustration
Sounds like a typical day in my shop. Don't worry, if you step away from the car for a day or two, things always find a way of working out.

Re: Frustration
Removed the starter and took it apart. It is cooked. The fields are grounded to the case and the armature threw all of the solder out of it. Going to order a new one and hopefully I can get away without having to pay for a core.

$53.99 plus tax at Advance Auto Parts.
That was to replace the rebuild one from Ebay ($40.00) that I put in and after two hours of hard work and braking my fingers I ripped of the bold for the main wire.
The second time only took an hour and I didn't have to brake my fingers anymore.
