I have the back part of the switch with wires all soldered and in place - that's how the car came. I also have a new switch assembly that I want to take the front (key) part and put it on the existing rear part (hoping they are compatible - the new switch came with the car, in a box). So what are the two white wires that come into the harness area, off to the side? Mine are just cut off. Are they for a warning light or buzzer when the key is in the ignition? Can I just leave them unhooked?
I know - I will need a wiring diagram set for 1984 Spiders... but I haven't got it yet - any tips, meanwhile?
If pic's are needed, I can get some tomorrow.

Re: 2 White Wires at Ignition Switch?
You got it, the thin white wires that go directly into the switch, (not thru the main plug) are for the buzzer and most replacement switches are the earlier style that don't have it.
