Looks very much like this site - even some of the forum names are lifted word for word. Certainly the look and feel are "similar". Biggest difference seems to be that it is more vendor friendly, which I assume means there is some revenue generation in the plan, though I don't know that to be the case.

I have mixed feelings myself. I'm probably not going to actively use two spider sites. I rarely visit the mira or flu sites now, just because it's more convenient to stick with one. That said, I'll be bummed if some of the expertise I have regularly found here ends up defecting to the other site.

Also, there are some familiar usernames on that site that I have not seen regularly on this site for some time. That makes me think there might be some "we didn't like the way you run your site so we made our own" involved, though again, I don't know that - just speculating.

To each his own, I guess.

There are familiar names on the new site, but remember, there are several forums dedicated to Fiats already. One more is not going to take away from the ones already popular.

I would say that maybe some of the bad attitudes discussed are here on this page. I am only speculating like Steve, but I doubt that the biggest Vender names in Fiat Parts would associate with "power hungry rule mongers".

Are you saying that once someone leaves this site, they are no longer you friends. They do have a killer graphic for the welcome or intro page. (what ever its called)

Right Beachboy. There's no reason why anyone that wants to visit both sites can't. The guys that have started the new site had a lot to contribute to this one and others and it's a shame they found something here they didn't agree with. I don't have a problem with it at all. It also doesn't mean you're obligated to use the new site if you don't want to. It's your choice.

On a daily basis I visit at least 4 different Fiat forums, if its a slow day in the fiat world sometimes I need to visit more to get my daily "fix". All but Mira have the same format/look/interface, so its not like they copied this forums format. There are hundreds of various forums out there that have this same format.

In my view there are two good ways to learn all there is to know about these cars. 1. completley dissassemble and reassemble your car and all its components. 2. Imerse yourself in all the forums and read as much as you can on people's problems, the suggestions, and the solution.

I'll say this, the various forums are needed and each has their own feel, knowledge base, areas of expertise, and comradery, or lack of. I wouldn't say I'm "loyal" to only one forum as I visit them all. There are certain forums that I like to post suggestions/recomendations on, and there are others where I ask questions, and others that I just lurk to see whats going on. That being said, I think some of the previous comments are a bit close minded, you guys and gals need to expand your horizions.

Sounds like I've been misunderstood. I don't have any issues with the new site, or with any of the folks that started it or have already begun using it. My two observations are 1) like Denise said, it seems that some of the folks that brought a lot of value to this site found something that they objected to, and now have left and started their own. And 2) I probably will join the other site, but won't use it much, not because I object to anything they are doing, but because that's just me. I have a hard enough time keeping track of things I have posted here and need to follow up on the responses, not to mention PMs that I read and then forget to respond to. Participation in one site is probably all I can manage.

I just regret that the community that I have enjoyed so much, and have benefitted so much from, is now divided in such an obvious way. :(

Just because someone runs it that used to be here and left to start their own thing doesn't mean that your sleeping with the enemy. Thats like saying if you buy from IAP you cant buy from Bayless or Vick. I know that I will definately go between as many sites as I wish. I am quite sure that there are a few people here that will check out the other new site as well and never mention it, or pretend it don't exist or Bash it with un-necessary insults as usual. The site owners name is Pope. Isn't that the same Pope that was on this site?

Why does the starting of a new forum even require any discussion.
