Crazy high. Take $10K off and it's still too high.

I don't know guys. With all those "ultimate rare" features, it's worth more than your average 81 Fiat Spider.

Yeah but guys, he's willing to have the 95% body made 100% on his 100% car.
You just don't appreciate the rareness of this 100% car.

Hee hee. This is just begging for a joke about the value of an "average 81 Fiat Spider"mdrburchette wrote:I don't know guys. With all those "ultimate rare" features, it's worth more than your average 81 Fiat Spider.

"Numbers matching" meaning the VIN tag matches the firewall stamping? Not Extremely Rare from what I've seen. Because the engines had their own numbering system, dufus!

Wow BEEK, is your RARE car still available. Yours is $12,000 cheaper than the one in Akron.
Oh wait! I just remembered I've got a RARE 1982-numbers matching-AT-power windows-"original tires"- little rust spots-ding on trunk car in my garage. It does need a new top though. I guess that's why I was able to buy mine for $16000 less than he is asking. I have to say, I have yet to see a like-new nearly 29 yr. old convertible top on any car.

He even channels Chip Foose in the ad, this is serious stuff. Maybe I can get like 12K for mine, it has a lot of ultra-rare features too.

and btw mine has the original top, tattered and kinda torn, but original, it might decintergrate if put down though, so it stays up all the time!

I think he must be a laid off comedic writer and a bad one at that. Might as well tear the whole thing apart and replace all the hardend rubber seals in the motor before it leaks all over the garage floor.

You all sound like a bunch of Monday morning quarterbacks, have any of you seen the car?

Re: Seems a bit high$$
No matter how good it looks, if it is "all original", all moving rubber parts are toast. That means, ball joints, tie rod ends, sway bar bushings, brake hoses, coolant hoses, timing belt, tires, etc, etc, etc. That = $$$. Locally, the front end rebuild costs $1000, the timing belt replacement costs $645. So one would have to add $1645 plus the bodywork he talks about to the $17,000 asking price (then it wouldn't be all original any more). This car would cost you about $25,500 and you could get top dollar for it- $7000-12,000.
I'm with BEEK. He should find a barn, put it in there for 10 min, shake the dust from a vacuum cleaner all over it, and "find" it later. Pictures would prove it was a great, all-original, barn find.

Sorry Ken haven't seen the car just read the add. It just sounds to much like someone blowing smoke out there bottom to be taken seriously. Someone might buy it for that price if they have no knowledge of these cars and then badmouth it because it doesn't live up to the hype the add portrays.
Would it be a good car to get sure it would. Could you find a better one for a quarter of the price. All day long and then some.
Armchair quarterbacks would mean no one here has dealt with or owned a fiat. The majority of us are realistic in our expectations of what something is worth is where we are coming from.
