radiator fan not working
radiator fan not working
My 1978 124 spider runs cool while driving but in traffic it gets hot. I don't think the electric fan is working. Any suggestions on trouble shooting?

Remove the two wires at the swith in the bottom of the rad. Thouch the two wires together, the fan should come on. The fan gets constant 12V power through the blue wire. The black wire (ground) goes from the fan to the switch where it's interupted then on to the ground pod on the drivers side fender.
You can take the switch out and test it for continuity in a pot of boiling water. The temp at which the switch opens and closes is stamped on the side of the switch.

Ok, unplugged the fan wires and hit them with 12 volts. Fan spins fine. So now I need to check grounds, fuse, relay?
