While I'm working on replacing my heater core, I'm cleaning some surface rust off the heater pipes and flanges. I was wondering if I could use my Tin Zinc eastwood electoplating kit I have laying around to replate the pipes. Anybody see any problems with doing this? Thanks.

It should work, but the biggest problem with plating is getting the part clean enough. The insides of those pipes are usually severly corroded and getting that rust out is difficult.
Do an internet search for "Removing rust with electrolysis" You can use baking powder and a car battery charger to remove the rust from inside the pipe.

That's a great idea Matt. Will try that and post back with pics!
